What is the function of the crankshaft?

07 Jan

The function of the crankshaft is to:

1. Transforming the thrust transmitted by the piston connecting rod into rotational torque;

2. Transforming the reciprocating linear motion of the piston into circular rotation of the crankshaft;

3. Transmit engine torque to the transmission system through the flywheel;

4. The valve train and other auxiliary devices that drive the engine.

The crankshaft is composed of the front end shaft, connecting rod journal, main journal, crankshaft, balance weight, and rear end flange of the crankshaft.

The symptoms of crankshaft failure include: 1. The crankshaft and crankshaft sleeve are not tightly engaged and shake up and down; 2. The vehicle does not have high voltage or fuel injection; 3. The vehicle does not ignite; 4. Engine scrapping; 5. The engine fault light on the dashboard is on.
